34: CultureCast with Dr. Marvel Parker

Let’s talk about creating culture! In this episode Marvel Parker, co-founder of the Emil and Mamie Till Memorial Institute, and I talk about her unorthodox career path and what it means to her.

1. Community Champion: Witnessing social issues, Marvel co-founded a youth organization and excelled as Director of Community Development, leading fire station and community center construction and senior housing development.
   
   
2. Emmett Till Legacy Preserved: Partnering with her husband, Marvel co-founded the Till Memorial Institute, securing funding for an Emmett Till curriculum and culminating in the 2023 establishment of the Emmett Till National Park.
   
   
3. Lifelong Learner & Connector: Marvel's career shifts, from accountant to travel agent, reflect her love of learning and connecting with diverse people.
